The project "Share Democracy – Don’t keep it inside of you!" was designed with the intention of reinforcing democratic values, promoting active citizenship, and empowering young people to participate meaningfully in civic life. Our core aim was to create a space where young people could explore the concepts of democracy, inclusion, and participation in a tangible and transformative way. The main objectives of the project were: 1. To foster understanding and internalization of democratic values among young participants, equipping them with the knowledge, attitudes, and skills needed to become active, responsible citizens in their communities and across Europe. 2. To encourage the active involvement of young people in civic and social processes, particularly those who face social, economic, or cultural barriers to participation. 3. To promote inclusion and intercultural dialogue by bringing together diverse groups of young people and creating opportunities for shared experiences, empathy-building, and mutual understanding. 4. To challenge passivity, self-stigma, and marginalization by empowering participants to speak up, engage in dialogue, and recognize their role and impact within a democratic society. 5. To cultivate youth-led initiatives and peer learning, encouraging participants to not only benefit from the experience but also become multipliers of the project’s values through community-based actions after the project’s end. 6. To create a cross-border network of young changemakers and youth organizations that would continue to collaborate, exchange ideas, and inspire democratic engagement beyond the project lifetime. Ultimately, the project aimed to shift young people from passive observers to active contributors in shaping democratic societies, with a long-term vision of fostering more inclusive, resilient, and participatory communities.
