Objectives

It is known that the world population is gradually gaining weight, so it was observed that the number of unhealthy individuals is increasing daily. According to World Health Organisation data, there are more than 2 billion overweight or obese individuals worldwide, and approximately 3 million people die every year due to obesity and diseases related to obesity. In the last 50 years, technological developments have significantly changed the tools related to education and leisure activities. There has been a serious process of'mechanization' and 'computerization' in almost all sectors. As a natural consequence of these developments, the young population has become vulnerable to serious health threats while benefiting from the opportunities this change provides. Young people face major health problems early due to the sedentary lifestyle imposed by technology. According to research, the back leg muscles of young people who worked by sitting in the office or classrooms for long hours were shortened, and this problem could cause chronic low back pain in the future. In addition, young sedentary people were more likely to have cardiovascular diseases, and the risk of developing cancer and depression increased. The specific objectives that we wanted to achieve, so we ensured our general goals, were: To increase the awareness of young people and youth workers about healthy living, to encourage young people to be active and more productive; to transform technology from an element that restricted the movement of young people to an element that supported an active lifestyle; helping young people use technology efficiently and distracting them from technology addiction; using the power of social media to promote healthy living; - To increase the capacity of 27 youth workers from 9 countries during the ten-day training course in non-formal education and outdoor activities; to ensure that good practices were shared internationally and to initiate the creation of a network that would support the realisation of new projects and mobilities; - To promote Erasmus+ as a programme that supports a healthy lifestyle and active ageing; - To create greater responsiveness to cultural diversity and a better understanding of European projects and EU values. The project aligned with the objectives of youth workers and Erasmus+ mobility projects. It supported youth workers' professional development and increased the quality of youth work on local, national, and international levels. In addition, it aimed at creating a more quality project implementation and a wider impact on the community and youth. In addition, its goals aligned with the European Union Youth Strategy 2019–2027 goals. Especially through the 8th goal of quality learning, which aimed at improving different forms of knowledge and enabling youth to deal with the challenges of the modern age. Our project directly contributed to one of the main objectives of the Erasmus+ programme: raising the skills, capacities, and levels of young people, youth workers, and youth organisations. Within the scope of our project, the quality of youth work was increased by developing cooperation between youth organisations.
