The rate of social exclusion and severe exclusion of young people is increasing more and more and the simple fact of being young is becoming a risk factor. Therefore, youth must be provided with knowledge, skills, and competencies to be able to face the dynamic changes of society, which tends to be increasingly uncertain, multicultural, and digital. Education, training, and sport are key instruments for the personal and professional development of youth and, therefore, of citizenship. In this sense, we consider it essential to provide non-formal and informal learning opportunities to young people from the perspective of inclusive and quality education so that they develop/acquire the skills and abilities necessary to actively participate in society, address diversity and promote intercultural understanding and improve their transition to the labor market. With this project we intend to provide the young participants with opportunities for permanent education in an intercultural context through a series of scheduled activities based on methods, techniques, and strategies of non-formal and informal education and in which the benefits of sport as educational tool for the social inclusion of young people. For this reason, the main objective of the project is to increase the value of physical and sports activities as an educational tool to promote social inclusion and, in this way, deal with the processes of social exclusion and discrimination suffered by youth groups at risk. The specific objectives we pursue are the following: - Analyze the values that are transmitted through sport. - Understand how sport can be a positive educational tool to prevent and fight against discrimination and social exclusion. - Inquire about the role of physical and sports activities as a means of social inclusion in the population. - Raise awareness about inequality and discrimination caused by stereotypes and gender roles in sport. - Provide participants with a series of methods, strategies and techniques related to physical activities and sports that are based on a positive perspective of diversity and are inclusive. - Strengthen the European identity and citizen participation of young people so that they contribute to building more sustainable, inclusive, and fair societies. - Create cooperative networks at European level to work from non-formal education in the field of youth to provide lifelong learning opportunities for the group and, especially, for those young people with fewer opportunities.
