Objectives

The Let's Unbox project was designed in full alignment with the Erasmus+ Programme KA1, focusing on addressing the challenges of youth unemployment. It specifically tackled three major issues: Inability to identify opportunities or lack of self-confidence to pursue them Mismatched or underdeveloped personal and professional skills Lack of necessary real-life know-how and experience To address these challenges, the project implemented a seven-day youth exchange incorporating the eight key competencies of Erasmus+, integrating cognitive-behavioral psychology, and combining theoretical knowledge with hands-on learning through non-formal, engaging activities. The learning experience was structured around self-driven personal development, encouraging participants to understand and improve their own abilities, career-oriented growth, equipping them with relevant skills for future employability, and international peer-to-peer exchange, fostering multicultural learning and collaboration. The activities followed a step-by-step structured flow, where newly acquired skills and knowledge were applied progressively. The program was divided into two key phases. The first phase focused on intrapersonal development, where participants explored self-awareness, confidence building, and personal identity, distinguishing between inherent traits and socially constructed stereotypes. They re-evaluated their past and present selves, set personal values, and created action plans for future growth. Entrepreneurial and brainstorming tools were introduced to enhance their critical and creative thinking abilities. The second phase focused on interpersonal skill-building, enabling participants to improve their verbal and non-verbal communication, allowing them to effectively present themselves and their skills in professional and social settings. The final two days of the exchange specifically targeted youth employability by providing hands-on experience in CV writing, job interview preparation, and career planning. Participants took part in individualized mock interviews, allowing them to apply all the competencies acquired throughout the program, linking theoretical learning to real-life professional scenarios. Additionally, media and digital literacy were embedded in the learning process, preparing participants to navigate modern job markets and digital environments with confidence. Beyond individual development, the project provided an international and intercultural setting, reinforcing youth engagement in non-formal education, volunteerism, employment opportunities, and lifelong learning. It also promoted Erasmus+ principles and European democratic values, encouraging active youth participation in society.
