Objectives

The bilateral project TACKLING STEREOTYPES 5. 0 took place at Easter 2023 in the town of Villablanca where 44 young people, most of them with fewer opportunities, from Spain and Portugal shared a space where on the one hand values, feelings of interculturality and healthy habits were instilled through sport, and on the other hand we used this common element (love for sport) to approach precisely to the group in which we want to prevent the youth of our localities, the drug addicts, with the idea of sharing good times with them and in turn to know first hand this social reality offering them in turn healthy living and sport as an element of support for their fight against their problems. All this with the collaboration and support of coaches and players of the rugby teams of the participating cities, as well as with the workers of Proyecto Hombre Huelva and ARO who will advise us and will be an active part of the exchange. We use "scouting" as an element of non-formal education to train in values through sport and different activities such as dynamics, workshops, debate forums... using this leading pedagogical method in non-formal education since 1907. Both the interpersonal experience with the rest of the participants, the acquisition of healthy habits knowing minority sports and loaded with values such as Rugby, the direct contact and link that was created with drug addicts and alcoholics in rehabilitation with whom we will share activities and collaborate as volunteers and the accumulation of sensations that will produce this exchange in the participants, will make of it a punctual experience in time, but lasting in the experiences, social awareness, interculturality and personal formation of the participants throughout their growth as people of our Europe of today and tomorrow. *objectives: - To encourage outdoor activities and sports as a way to occupy young people's free time healthily. - To observe and be participants in turn of the effects of drug addiction and alcoholism both in individuals and indirectly in their families, approaching this group and understanding them as people who are recovering from an addiction, putting faces and feelings. - To get to know the culture of the respective localities of the young participants in addition to our own, and to create an atmosphere of union and integration among all emphasizing the importance of English for a European unity, getting all the kids to try to communicate in English and to dare to express themselves in public in front of the rest of the group. - To achieve the integration of all the children, giving prominence to the shyest ones in the activities. - Promote the development of debate and proposal skills through group dynamics and other dialectic activities. - To develop coexistence among the international participants of the exchange, understanding ourselves as a global whole that must move towards a common goal. - To build a space of opinion and exchange proposals for our free time. - To discover first hand the cultural and social reality of young people from other countries of our continent. - Cultural diversity: we will have young people from countries with very different cultural origins, who, through the programmed activities, will learn about the different positions on the topics to be discussed. - Inclusion of young people with fewer opportunities: We have young people living different socioeconomic and socio-health realities, as well as kids with very different cultural and geographical roots. Tackling Stereotypes 5.0 is the logical continuation of a project already carried out by the same associations and with the same objectives, with the exception that we have improved the program after having evaluated the last exchange, and that this time we offer this alternative to other new children (if the first editions were a success in terms of objectives, multiplier effect in their localities and impact, we are obliged to be able to reach more children, thus reinforcing the values worked on).
