Objectives

Our motivations behind the design of this project were to create new opportunities for the rural world. People behind Seeds for Future are firmly convinced of the potential and fundamental role that non-urban areas have and will have, both in the evolution of our societies and of our ecosystems at different levels. On the one hand, the rural world can serve as a response to a large part of the conflicts originating in urban spaces today, such as youth unemployment, high incomes, lifestyles which contribute to the increase in the negative effects of change. climate, with large displacements and/or transport of food and materials, among a long, etc. On the environmental side, becoming aware of proximity, connection and greater knowledge and dependence on the natural environment, on the impact of our way of life on natural spaces, and people who inhabit these environments can serve as witnesses of the accelerated transformations that we are causing in the environment. We believe that the best approximation to a future for the rural world is through motivation, training, sensitization, support and awareness of the younger generations, so they are empowered and committed to this common responsibility that feeds the world, not only in a literal way, but enriching it with traditions, diverse identities, their own culture and resistance. This project was articulated through three priority axes. The main one, a rural entrepreneurship program, through the stimulation of the participants with a personalized and collaborative accompaniment, guided by people with extensive experience in this field, essentially practical, applying self-knowledge strategies to connect with the true motivations and youth needs. Secondly, an activity which we identify as "rural fellows" which seeks to establish a deep knowledge and empathy with rural reality. Finally, we were interested in involving them in physical activities that contribute to the rural space in which the activities take place and that generate an impact in the community. Through this youth exchange, our interest was focused on feeding the entrepreneurial spirit of the participants and offering them the tools, examples, inspiration, support and sources of information necessary to be able to develop their own projects in their places of origin and to create a network and contributes to developing local economies, which favor our communities on many levels, and to be able to create healthier realities of higher quality, local services, or innovative products in an underused space. In this way, we address different priority issues at the same time: youth unemployment, limited opportunities for training in youth entrepreneurship, we will be exploring alternative lifestyles... All while looking for innovation in the field of rural economy and options for life in symbiosis with nature. In relation to the objectives of the Erasmus+ program, Seeds for Future encompassed the values common to the contents in all our previous projects, defending and promoting gender equality, social justice, intergenerational solidarity, promoting social, territorial and economic development and collaboration between all countries. Seeds for Future is fully aligned and committed to the 2030 Sustainable Development Agenda, as we are fully confident that rural spaces can be the answer to many contemporary conflicts, helping to improve and promote more sustainable agriculture, promoting development and awareness in relation to the care of the oceans, seas and marine resources; reducing inequalities between territories, creating economies more focused on the local, less dependent on the outside, which favor the creation of wealth redistribution networks; promoting a climate of peace, empathy, collaboration and cooperation, where all people have the same opportunities regardless of their gender, race, religion, sexual preference, etc. In the same way, the reactivation of rural network supports the constant exchange of information and knowledge, will promote a more active and healthy lifestyle, will be linked to clean energy providers, these spaces will be, at the same time, a benchmark of tradition and innovation, helping to develop a sustainable economy which is combined with respect for the environment and, therefore, that is an ally in our alliance against the acceleration of climate change.
