The "Let me show" project arose from the initiative of a group of young people from the municipality of Barberà del Vallès linked to Taller d'Art, Cultura i Creació (TACC) through various local and European projects, and who were interested in participating in an international experience within the Erasmus+ program. The connection of this group with photography and sexual diversity led to their participation in the KA2 Cooperation for Innovation project "Let me know" with the aim of developing a methodology that would make visible the discrimination faced by LGBTIQ+ young people from different countries through social photography. The aim of this youth exchange was to link these groups of young people from different European cities once again to share the experiences of being part of or defending the queer community and to exchange knowledge to become aware of the power of photography in denouncing the discrimination and the visibility of emotional, sexual and gender diversity through reflection and debate, photographic practice, and the creation of a collaborative public exhibition. The objectives to be achieved during the youth exchange were the following: GENERAL OBJECTIVE 1.0. To give a voice to young people from the LGTBIQ+ community through social photography. SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES 1.0. To promote expression and connection through the visual arts. 1.1. To promote values and attitudes corresponding to non-discrimination and respect for diversity. 1.2. To get to know the uses of photography as a tool for reflection and social transformation. 1.3. To identify discriminatory attitudes and unsafe spaces and to look for ways to confront these situations. 1.4. To value the benefits of emotional expression and collaborative work. 1.5. To promote personal self-knowledge, group cohesion and social inclusion. 1.6. To empower young people in the development of a joint photography exhibition. 1.7. To put into practice the methodology and tools developed during the KA2 project. The 36 participants (including group leaders) participated in talks, debates and activities in a process of exchange of experiences conveyed through the visual arts and non-formal education. In addition, the youth exchange had as its final "performance" the presentation of a public photographic exhibition to make the project visible and to demand the empowerment of LGBTIQ+ young people in front of the citizens of Barberà del Vallès. The entities Arcigay Napoli and Rede ex Aequo were selected as partners based on their previous participation in the Cooperation for Innovation project, in addition to being reference entities in their respective countries of origin, Italy and Portugal, regarding the defence of the rights of the LGBTIQ+ group through youth participation, and for its experience in the development and participation in projects within the framework of the Erasmus+ program. The youth exchange took place in Barberà del Vallès from the 10th to the 16th of July, 2023 (plus 2 days of travel), coinciding with the celebration of LGBTIQ+ pride in Barcelona and surrounding areas (although the day of vindication is June 28, it was celebrated two weeks later). Thus, the youth exchange had the support of the Barberà del Vallès City Council, which facilitated the use of facilities both for the accommodation of the participants and for carrying out the activities and displaying the results.
