Objectives

The aim of the implementing of the "ReACT" project was to gain a deeper understanding of natural and non-natural disasters, as well as their causes, effects and ways of addressing them. The project sought to organise an international youth exchange that would bring together young people from 6 countries Spain, Hungary, Poland, Italy, Romania, and Latvia to share their experiences and learn from each other, since those countries had suffered from natural disasters and did not have the knowledge to deal with them. The objectives of the ReACT project were to: O1: Educating young people about safety procedures that should be followed during and after natural disasters and threats resulting from human mistakes (e.g. fires, electricity accidents, etc.), as well as coping with their effects. O2: Strengthening the position of young people and encouraging active participation in social life and solving problems of their local communities. O3: Preparing a place for creative work in an international environment. O4: Drawing the attention of the inhabitants of Malaga to the threats of both natural disasters and human mistakes, as well as the need for education in this area and the importance of active participation in civic life. O5: Impact on local authorities through recommendations regarding actions to solve social problems. O6: Expanding the network of contacts and strengthening cooperation between partner organisations of the project, exchange of "good practices". O7: Increasing the importance of non-governmental organisations in local communities.
