CookBook for our future is a youth exchange that arises from a group of young people who, as a result of participating in different mobility projects with Erasmus+ and ESC, realize that we share the problem of food and cooking. We have moved away from the kitchen, family spaces for food and care, replacing them with a diet based on ultra-processed, imported materials and far from local and traditional recipes, in short, a less healthy diet for us and for the planet. . In this project we want to deal with 8 issues that concern us through the main theme of food and cooking. Our main motivation is to develop and share tools for greater autonomy of young people in the field of cooking, this will be achieved through an international experience in non-formal and practical education. The additional problems that we will include in addition to youth autonomy are: climate change, healthy eating and mental health related to food, gender equality, rural development, multiculturalism, inclusion in the kitchen and digital transformation. The main problem we see is that young people have a hard time taking the step of leaving home. This indecision can come from hundreds of reasons, such as not knowing how much it will cost to live abroad, what sharing accommodation will be like and how to manage to eat homemade food 3 times a day. We are also increasingly affected by eating disorders derived from lack of self-esteem and not knowing how to manage our diet in a healthy and balanced way. The aim of this project is to make the shopping basket more accessible, publicizing local seasonal products and direct sales that have a much lower price than other imported ones that go through many distributors that we find in large surfaces. In addition, there will be experiences of coexistence and cooperation around the heart of any home, the kitchen, thus providing tools for better management of egalitarian coexistence relationships. Finally, together, you will create a guide that will help you cook almost any food and make a delicious and healthy dish in less than an hour; This learning will be sealed in an accessible and attractive recipe book that we will share with more young people through networks and dissemination activities. Transversally we will also deal with climate change, by educating in healthy and local cuisine we avoid the carbon footprint of food from large surfaces as well as food waste, promoting local consumption and developing creativity in the kitchen and taking advantage of fresh products . Food together with the kitchen is the basis that unites the entire population, from the production of food, its care and collection, to its sale, cooking and final consumption. Due to its transversality, it is a topic in which we see reflected great problems that harm our society, from gender inequality that leads women to dedicate their time to taking care of the food of their families and partners, to climate change with the thousands of kms that certain foods that we consume in our day to day travel and the ignorance of seasonal foods in their regions. Youth plays an essential role in this issue, it is the sector most involved in the consumption of ultra-processed foods and farthest from traditional and healthy diets. However, on the other hand, it is also the sector of society that is most aware of gender inequity and the need for a fair conciliation between couples, family members and partners. It is for all of the above that the main objectives of this project are focused on addressing the nutrition of youth to bring it closer to seasonal, regional foods and with a lower CO2 load; work on the relationship between cooking and gender, promoting empathy, mutual care and conciliation; and lastly, the autonomy of young people when faced with emancipation from the family home, with a view to facilitating life experiences abroad for study, training or work. These objectives will be addressed through an exchange that includes reflection activities and practical activities, in the kitchen, in the garden, and through Non-Formal Education dynamics that allow us to grow by addressing the issues raised, but also to do so in an attractive way for the community. young people, expressing ourselves beyond the language barrier or cultural differences, allowing above all cultural exchange through gastronomy, generating a European feeling through sharing different tastes, recipes and ways of living food , just like when we share the table, we share moments, our home and our roots.
