CultourEU: Promoting Rural Tourism by Youth Civic Participation has been created primarily as a tool to develop tourism in rural areas, promoting its cultural value and fighting against the depopulation problem in these regiones. The aim is to change the attitude of the young population, who are currently looking for personal and professional opportunities outside the place where they born. The pandemic caused by Covid-19 has only demonstrated the need to adapt the life in rural areas because the depopulation problem is real and important. In order to reverse this situation, the project will focus on the promotion of the creative spirit among the participants, so as to generate innovative ideas that add value to existing products and services, as well as the possibilities of entrepreneurship with the aim of creating new ones. Knowledge of existing technological resources and the digitalisation process of the new generations will be used to promote rural tourism and cultural elements. The local development of the territories in which work will be carried out will increase employment opportunities and the future of the area, thus managing to work against one of the problems that currently exists in Europe, the exodus of the youth population to the big cities in search of opportunities to build their future. In order to achieve these objectives, youth workers from different parts of Europe will be trained so that they can also work with and train young people in their region of origin. They will be in charge of getting to know first hand the tools and methods exposed by the experts attending the exchange, the experience of the associations in the organisation of cultural and traditional events and the peculiarities that facilitate the success or failure when creating a new business and they will apply it to the young people they work with on a daily basis in order to achieve the proposed objectives. On the other hand, it is important to highlight that the Erasmus + programme provides the ideal context to develop this idea, providing the participants with the possibility to exchange experiences and knowledge with other youth workers who are in a similar situation in their respective countries. This Erasmus + programme will consist specifically of an exchange in L'Ènova, in which different youth workers will receive training to promote culture and rural tourism on the European continent, using non-formal education methods and under the principles and values of the European Union. 36 workers from different parts of the continent will benefit directly from the knowledge and experience gained during this exchange, as well as from the cultural enrichment of sharing this time with their colleagues. However, they will not be the only ones to benefit, as it is hoped that the rest of the population will benefit indirectly through the young people they work with on a daily basis. The activities that will be carried out by the participants will be focused on the promotion of their regions of origin, through the creation of innovative ideas that adapt their tourism and cultural offer and entrepreneurial initiatives that complement it. Likewise, participants will be introduced to different organisations that are already adapting to the new times. The aim of these activities is to combat the two great challenges we face: economic development through tourism and culture, and the creation of future opportunities for the young people who live in these territories. To conclude, the basic objectives of the project are: ● To promote rural tourism and its historical cultural value among young people. ● To promote non-formal learning in which young people can learn new ways of entrepreneurship in the rural sector. ● To promote interculturality through learning about the socio-cultural context of each partner region. ● To stop depopulation through the valorisation by young people of the main tourist facilities and points of interest offered by the rural sector.
