This project emerged as a continuation of our previous projects "Trazando Futuro" (2021, Erasmus+ Key Action 3) and "Trazando Futuro 2022, (2022, Erasmus+ Key Action 1). "Trazando Futuro 2023: Youth Dialogue for Creating Opportunities in Majadahonda" is an initiative by the Youth Department of the Majadahonda City Council aimed at involving young people and collaboratively working on analyzing their needs and creating proposals that can be integrated into local youth programs. This year marked the third edition of this project, reinstated due to its previous years' significant acceptance and success. Through this project, a space for reflection has been created, allowing young people to explore their needs and future challenges. They became aware of their roles as active citizens, aiming to contribute to the development of local policies. Previous years' experiences helped establish a more direct and structured communication channel with the municipality's youth. In this new edition, the goal was to continue incorporating resulting proposals into the programming and services of the Youth Department. Together with participating young individuals, we tackled the analysis of their needs. Collaborating with technical staff and political representatives, strategies were designed, and existing programs were redesigned to address these needs. The objectives of the project were: - To generate a space for reflection and collaborative work on the needs and opportunities of young people. - To introduce the EU Youth Strategy and the goals of European Youth, as well as the opportunities available to young individuals. - To foster the development of key competencies. - To promote active participation of young people in local democratic life. - To enhance services and programs aimed at the youth population in the municipality. - To maintain communication and collaboration between political and technical leaders and the municipality's youth, bridging the gap between municipal institutions and the needs of young people. The project established a dialogue among young individuals, technical staff, and political leaders, allowing reflection on youth reality. It engaged youth in active citizenship, promoting their involvement in shaping and improving local policies that affect their lives. Moreover, it provided an opportunity for self-assessment, generating motivations, and developing personal competences.
