Objectives

Through the co-creation of radio podcasts mixing theatre and radio techniques, Live On! aimed at engaging and empowering young people from different European countries and contexts (France, Italy and Serbia) to become active citizens and think about European identity. To go against a general climate of fear, anger and prejudices, and move towards mutual understanding and positive narratives on Europe, the collective experience Live On! aimed at conveying positive thoughts, proposals and solutions, engaging and empowering young people through active participation. The project objectives were: - To engage and empower young people through active participation in an intercultural youth exchange and the co-creation of collective European radio podcasts, strengthening the sense of belonging to a European community and developing lifelong technical, creative, social skills and self-confidence thanks to non-formal training; - To counter the negative and alarming climate generally conveyed by the media by seizing the radio and developing creative content to raise awareness on positive proposals and narratives; - To exchange skills and good practices among the consortium, made of a theatre company, a cultural organisation and radios, in order to foster European cooperation. Live On! questioned: how to rethink the notion of being human, and of living together, in Europe? How to foster intercultural comprehension and a relationship of trust in order to engage young people to participate, build and invest in their own future? How to propel in the future in order to better act on it? How to invite young people to seize the media, creating a safe space to reverse their impact and stimulate more positive stories? We are convinced that the use of radio, as a democratic media that triggers the imaginary, meets young people’s needs to be heard, and to have a space for the expression of their creativity and talent. Our ambition was to show that despite all the ongoing crises and events, hope and reconstruction are possible.
