Objectives

The ReZealArt project (Developing resilient territories through street art and creativity spearheaded by the youth) was conceived with a multifaceted vision aimed at fostering creativity, cultural understanding, and active civic participation among young people. First and foremost, ReZealArt aimed to be a catalyst for intercultural dialogue. By bringing together young individuals from various European countries, the project intended to create a vibrant platform for the exchange of ideas, perspectives, and artistic expressions. Through the universal language of street art, participants were encouraged to transcend linguistic and cultural boundaries, forging connections that went beyond the duration of the project. The core objectives of our project were as follows: To foster intercultural dialogue between 25 young people in order to experiment how arts and artistic expression can be effective in empowering young people and engaging them in active citizenship; To help young residents discover the town of Gerzat in a different way and embellish the heritage of Gerzat; To facilitate a socio-cultural mix in the Gerzat area by welcoming 25 young people from different European countries; To facilitate opportunities for networking and partnerships between young people and 5 organizations in EU countries. The exploration of Gerzat through street art served a dual purpose. Participants were not only encouraged to see their town in a different light but also to contribute to the embellishment and preservation of its heritage. Street art, often overlooked, became a means of storytelling—a visual narrative that celebrated the rich history and culture of Gerzat.
