Environment and climate changeBridging intercultural, intergenerational and social divide

Objectives

Context : European youth need to find their place and understand the world around them. The issues of preserving the environment and fighting climate change are increasingly shared, but young people from very working-class backgrounds are still far from it. Working together and finding meaning in a movement that goes beyond borders and cultural barriers is at the heart of the Action & Reaction #2 project. This exchange aims to explore a theme, the fight against climate change, by bringing together young people from different backgrounds. Thanks to an immersive experience based on the preservation of the environment and daily actions, throughout the activity, young people will carry out a major cultural event dedicated to the fight against climate change. This practical activity aims to change behavior, both individual and collective, without feeling guilty but with the conviction that everyone can participate in this great challenge. The Action & Reaction #2 project is part of a solid partnership between two structures: MJC Duchère in France and the Association of Young Volunteers SJ de Gines in Spain. In fact, 3 exchanges have already taken place between the two structures. OBJECTIVES : We started from the following observations in order to present this project: - The desire of the young people present on the Action & Reaction 2022 project to carry out an exchange in 2023 in France - The birth of an understanding of the Erasmus+ program on the part of new young people following the sharing of experience of former participants - The development of mastery of the Erasmus + program by the MJC Duchère teams, but also local partners - The desire of young people to take part in a European exchange. - The need of young people with fewer opportunities (JAMO) to find a place in society - To give meaning and action to their desire for commitment and solidarity with society. - Make young people aware of the possibilities for engagement with society. - The low awareness of JAMOs on the issues of environmental preservation and the fight against climate change - The already real difference in awareness between the JAMOs of the France group and the young people of the Spanish group with regard to the 2022 exchange Based on these reasons, we have set ourselves the following objectives: - Communicate and support young people in understanding Erasmus+ mobility opportunities. - Improve the linguistic and social skills of participants. - Allow young JAMOs to develop an understanding of environmental issues - Initiate the evolution of individual or collective behavior among young people, professionals and the MJC Duchère structure - Link environmental issues and the possibilities of professional integration in the near future for young people - Allow young people to express their opinions and develop their speaking skills. - Raise awareness among MJC members and the public about environmental issues - Know the different forms of social engagement and motivate the group of young people towards this area. - Promote tolerance with the best knowledge of French and Spanish cultures in their linguistic, religious and cultural aspects. - Convey volunteer experience and Youthpass certification as distinctive elements of the curriculum vitae. - Develop group dynamic techniques in order to achieve maximum cohesion within the group. Solidarity begins within the same group. It is through the red file project of the creation of a festival at the end of the stay, combining both music and activities around the issues of global warming, that all of the above objectives will be achieved by the youth. Therefore, the issues and needs that this project attempts to resolve and which correspond to the expected results are as follows: - Strengthening the place of young people in society at local, national and European level. - Improvement in linguistic (French and Spanish) and social skills resulting from learning. - Reduce the gap in awareness of environmental issues between JAMO Youth and other young people - Support in the perception of the Other by removing barriers to prejudices and stereotypes. - Raise awareness among young people and the community of the importance of participation and social engagement, contributing to the creation of a fairer awareness of European citizenship. - Improved professional prospects thanks to Youthpass accreditation. - Consolidation of support for Young People With Fewer Opportunities towards social and professional integration.
