Objectives

We aimed to achieve a number of objectives through our project on media education for youth workers. Firstly, we wanted to increase access to accurate and reliable information through media channels, particularly in a time where so much of our information comes from online sources. By equipping youth workers with the skills to navigate and critically evaluate media content, we tried to improve the quality and reliability of the information they share with young people. Another key objective of our project was to create media literacy skills in youth workers that would become lifelong habits. By teaching youth workers how to properly use media tools, analyze media content, and conduct effective Google searches, we tried to instill in them a lasting ability to evaluate and produce media messages that accurately reflect the world around us. In addition to these goals, we also aimed to encourage intercultural communication and cooperation between different cultures. By helping youth workers to understand the importance of questioning, criticizing, and filtering digital content, we hoped to promote a sense of critical thinking that transcends cultural differences and promotes understanding and cooperation. Finally, we aimed to minimize the negative effects of media use on young people. By teaching youth workers how to use media effectively and responsibly, we tried to reduce the potential for media to negatively impact young people's mental health and well-being.
