Our main goal all along this training course was to strengthen the capacities of youth activists to facilitate times around ecology. To do so, we were really glad to use a range of various workshops we’ve been developing those past 3 years. The project started with two groups traveling several months in Europe. Back then, influenced by non-formal education, we used everyone's specific skills, and came up with several ways to impact different audiences. We raised awareness about climate crises using amusing, creative or moving formats to fit various groups. Afterwards, transmitting this content in an Erasmus+ training seemed obvious. To make it collaborative, we also decided to open spaces for the participants to explore their own abilities and wishes in front of their pairs. Here is how we achieved the specific objectives we set: - One of them was leading the participants to understand the new challenges society brings us: we wanted to enlarge their comprehension of climate change, in particular, linking it to social issues such as colonial or patriarchal impact on ecology. Through activities like the “Decolonial Ecology World Cafe”, the “Artivism” workshop or the “Oppression System Game”, we saw deep discussions emerging and new notions have been learned for many people. - Another approach was to grant participants the freedom to organize themselves as a group and establish a communal life.Every day, they had a task to participate in the management of the venue La CasBa. This responsibility has been taken seriously by all, especially the dinner preparation thanks to whom we’ve been eating traditional food from all around Europe. The daily family meeting (reflection group) to share feelings and inputs also contributed to the team building. We thought the Skillshare should be their time, including in the schedule aspect. They showed their investment by planning all the activities on their own. We observed them staying aware of every individual by listening to each other's needs and adapting settings to respect it. - We expected each participant to use the Skillshare session for imagining a project and share it with others, receive their feedbacks, and think about how to implement it in their own communities on their return. During three days, many diverse propositions have been made like a “New narrative collage”, an initiation to the “Theatre of the Oppressed” or a “Botanical walk”, some “Action climbing in trees” and many more… - We succeeded to create a new french “Seeding for future” team, composed of 5 people who are now preparing their trip for the spring arrival. We keep reaching them often to get some news and help them if needed. We also received enthusiasm from participants from other countries to settle their own teams abroad and we hope this time will come at some point.
