Support for young people aged 14 to 18 is not very present in Guadeloupe; it is not a habit and a priority in youth policies at the municipal level. By allowing them to assert themselves, to decide for themselves, to build, to acquire transversal skills and soft skills in a well-defined educational framework, the reception of young people meets the needs of adolescents between 14 and 18 years, their emerging autonomy tending to distance them from traditional leisure centers. In a territorial context where idleness and other pressures are exerted on young people (addictions, etc.), 8 associations have chosen to develop this type of reception in their respective territories and in 2022 the network of reception of young people. The goal is to carry out activities allowing young people to : - Share the elements of current operation, the projects carried out and their perspectives as well as their motivations ; - Compare approaches, tools, teaching methods as well as problems and provide common solutions. This collective project which brought together 7 of the 8 youth reception centers aimed at several specific objectives : - Promote meetings and exchanges between young people from several municipalities and islands ; - Allow young people to participate in local collective actions on the scale of their respective territory ; - Make young people aged 14 to 18 active citizens ; - Promote the engagement of young people in the territories ; - Encourage young people to flourish within the group in a spirit of exchange, mutual aid and solidarity ; - Allow young people to be more independent and take responsibility. The desired results of the project concerned both young people, youth actors and institutional partners : - Satisfaction of adolescents in carrying out engagement activities at the local level (social skills) within the framework of non-formal education ; - Registration of future activities within the framework of international mobility programs (ERASMUS+ Youth and Sport) ; - Opening up to more territory the opportunity to define a reception for young people ; - Inclusion of youth reception in the development perspectives of Social Life Spaces and/or Social Centers ; - Addition of the educational support approach for young people by communities ; - Increase in skills (professionalization) of youth actors ; - Identification of common rights available to support a sustainable youth engagement fund. A PARTICIPATION PROJECT FOR AND WITH YOUNG PEOPLE. This project was strongly supported and supported by the DRAJES of Guadeloupe. DRAJES saw the opportunity to seize it, in the service of its prospects for developing youth reception in Guadeloupe, which is still too little present today. This project is therefore also an innovative educational proposal, for the age group of adolescents in the territories of Guadeloupe and Saint Martin. The elements transcribed for this assessment were written by several hands: SÈVE PARADI A TI MOUN, the consortium partners, the DRAJES experts who collaborated strongly on this project / collaborative project of youth actors via youth reception and DRAJES (development of youth reception in Guadeloupe, since there are still too few present today). This project brings a new dynamic.
