Objectives

2024 pour tou-tes consisted of a cycle of participative workshops, structured as a series of workshop-debates, with the aim of gradually encouraging participants to express their views on subjects and issues linked to civic participation and inclusion on a local and European scale, and then to build proposals around the theme of “Inclusion and active citizenship in everyday life”. This involved debates and exchanges between young people with disabilities, able-bodied young people and young volunteers, from the 4 cities of the project Strasbourg, Bordeaux, Nantes and Paris/Ile-de-France, with varied socio-economic profiles, in order to encourage a diversity of opinions. The project encouraged them to meet, exchange and build proposals to foster inclusion in democratic life and sports practice, in connection with challenges of the 2024 European elections and the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games. Its aim was to strengthen the formation of critical minds, promote inclusion, equal opportunities and diversity, encourage democratic participation and stimulate the civic engagement of young people within their local and European communities. In other words, the aim of the 2024 pour tou-tes project was to give young people the means to better understand the society around them, so that they can contribute to it as active, enlightened and responsible citizens, and thus facilitate their inclusion and social and professional integration in an ever-changing context. The aim was also to strengthen cooperation between the medico-social centers, decision-makers and local actors in the civic debate involved in the project. In addition, the 2024 pour tou-tes project is in line with the priorities of European youth strategies: 1. The project was first and foremost in line with the priorities defined in the context of the EU Youth Dialogue, by engaging, connecting and empowering young people. It aimed to enable young people to discover and use the levers of civic participation, adopting an inclusive logic. The project also contributed to strengthening young people's ability to inform themselves and express themselves, by promoting the civic and democratic participation of young people disconnected and removed from civic engagement and institutions, such as young people with disabilities and young people with varied socio-economic profiles. 2. The 2024 pour tou-tes project also encouraged sharing and inclusion by valuing the diversity of the young participants. It aligned itself with the 11 European Youth Goals, encouraging information and constructive dialogue, offering space and participation for all, promoting inclusive societies, and connecting EU with youth. The aim was to give young people a voice in European issues, on questions of citizenship, inclusion and sport, and to encourage dialogue with decision-makers. 3. It was also in line with the objectives of the Erasmus+ program, focusing on strengthening the democratic participation of young people, by organising Rounds 1: Active citizenship vs. inclusion, Rounds 2: Local participation vs. European participation, and Rounds 3: Proposing vs. receiving. The aim of these events was to enable young people to gain a better understanding of democratic institutions, grasp the stakes involved in European elections and issues of inclusion and citizenship on a European scale, and engage in dialogue with decision-makers and actors in the local civic debate, thereby fostering their civic involvement. It promoted diversity, equal opportunities and the inclusion of all young people in democratic life, paying particular attention to young people with disabilities and those with varied socio-economic profiles, to ensure fair representation and participation. 4. The project also contributed to the integration of young participants by focusing on the development of valued key skills. It aimed to equip young people with the skills needed to decipher information, cultivate a critical mind, boost their self-confidence, adapt to changing challenges, express their opinions, encourage dialogue between able-bodied and disabled young people, and make use of European and national mechanisms for civic engagement.
