With this project, we aimed to: 1. Empower youth engagement with culture: our project aimed to create tools that empower young people to actively engage with culture. These tools were developed based on the extensive experience of both organizations in this field. 2. Enhance organizational capacity and youth management skills: we sought to strengthen the capacity, professionalism, and improve youth management competences and skills of both organizations. This was achieved through shared experiences, knowledge exchange, and the adoption of innovative non-formal education methods. Our goal was to equip youth groups beyond their local communities. 3. Foster awareness of long-term impact: by encouraging youth participation and involvement today, we aimed to raise awareness that their actions and engagement can shape future policies and practices. 4. Create an innovative methodology for engaging youth in culture: the main result of the project was a handbook with steps on how to engage youth in culture. The handbook was promoted and shared among stakeholders. 5.Facilitate cross-cultural exchange: lastly, our project aimed to facilitate the exchange of experiences between Eastern and Central European countries facing similar challenges
The youth is, in many cases, a passive observer of heritage sites and cultural institutions. Our project sought to improve this passive role, transforming youth into active co-creators. We aimed to shift the paradigm by encouraging them to shape local activities and policies, fostering their participation in decision-making processes, and nurturing a sense of ownership over their cultural heritage. The idea was to share experience from our organizations, which has shown that youth can effectively self-organize in functional structures and build capacity to develop impactful cultural projects and programs. Our mission was to equip young individuals with practical tools, enabling them to engage with culture holistically and advocate for the changes they desire. With this project we addressed common values, civic engagement and participation, focusing on the development of intercultural competences and participation in the democratic life and we also brought culture closer to young people. The project also tackled the internal needs of organizations. We aimed to cultivate a more modern and professional working environment - one that embraced innovation and was open to incorporate new methods and synergies from other organizations.
