Objectives

Ab Ovo Association is made up of young adults, so we build on youth, and one of the main pillars of the organisation is to help young people spend their free time in a meaningful way. To support this, we have created a project called Travel and Babble to develop young people's skills and attitudes towards sustainable, green living through a variety of non-formal learning methods. We wanted to help young people both to enjoy spending time outdoors and to learn about and adopt environmentally sound practices in tourism. Our project is linked to several objectives of the Erasmus+ programme and youth exchanges, but in particular to the environment and the fight against climate change, as well as to inclusion and diversity. On the one hand, the project aimed to give the participating young people a better understanding of their environment through environmentally focused activities, which could enable them to participate more consciously in society, which will encourage them to choose more sustainable solutions and develop environmentally friendly habits during their future trips abroad. On the other hand, their knowledge of ecotourism will also enable them to identify problems at local level in their own cities and regions. Ecotourism is responsible travel that helps to protect the environment and improve the well-being of local people through economic support. With the number of tourists increasing year on year across Europe, promoting sustainability is an important objective, as well as conveying the important message to the young people involved that nature is good to us and we should be good to nature. That is why the motto of our exchange programme was: leave every place we visit in better condition than when we arrived. The project also focuses on promoting intercultural understanding and language skills among young people. Our primary aim was to create a community experience where young people from different backgrounds could come together to learn, exchange cultural values and develop their language skills. The project was designed for people aged between 18 and 30 who are keen to explore new cultures and languages. Our project objectives were many and varied: - Cultural exchange: our goal was to provide an experience that would allow participants to immerse themselves in different cultures, fostering a deeper appreciation and understanding of global diversity. - Skills development. These skills are essential in today's globalized world and were developed through various workshops and group activities. - Networking: by bringing together people from both countries, our aim was to build a network of young people with a passion for languages and cultures, and thus create collaborations and friendships that can last a lifetime. - Digital Engagement: recognising the power of digital platforms, -- Digital Engagement: recognising the power of digital platforms, our aim was to use online tools for youth exchange, thus extending the reach and impact of the project. With this project, we sought not only to enrich individual lives, but also to contribute to a more connected and empathetic global community. We created the project with the belief that understanding and respecting different cultures and languages can be a powerful tool for bridging gaps and building stronger international relationships.
