From our perspective taking into consideration the feedback of the participants and stakeholders, our initiative was a success. The project was an initiative of our volunteers and youngsters from our communities to deepen their knowledge in first aid trainings and emergencies cases. It took place between 27 july and 5 th of august, travel days included. The partnering organisations supported them, being aware of the good outcomes that the communities would benefit from if the youth is instructed about first aid basic methods and interventions. The public research data available on the European Parliament’s website mentions the importance of learning the first aid methods, that could prevent thousands of deaths which occur from injuries in road accidents across EU. Among the countries with road unsafety are Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria. First aid courses are not available in schools , and most people don't know either how to prevent some accidents, nor to take action when needed. Therefore the participation in our project was beneficial for the participants. In countries such as Norway, Germany, Austria, France and Iceland, more than 75% of the citizens know the first aid methods and are ready anytime to take action and we continue to contribute to achieve similar aims. General AIM of our initiative was to contribute for a safer life in our communities . We consider we increased the skills of young people who participated to intervene with first aid measures in emergency situations, as the specific objectives of this youth exchange were: - Optimizing the skills of 42 young people (37 youngsters and 5 group leaders) from 5 partner countries to identify emergencies, during a youth exchange that lasted for 8 days in Hungary - Developing a set of basic skills for voluntary intervention in emergency situations, for such as: traffic accidents, drowning, burns, electric shock, falls from height, drug overdose, trauma from aggression, common medical conditions, first aid psychological aid for the participants - Providing support to 42 young people (37 youngsters and 5 group leaders) from 5 partner countries to identify volunteering opportunities and contexts in the field of first aid. - Fostering intercultural learning during the AID for life Erasmus+ youth exchange for the participants
