We had in mind several small objectives we wanted to achieve, and we are proud of our project’s results. We want more young people to switch to more eco-friendly, alternative choices or ways of living, for which we designed several activities, such as the one of ecological footprint, where they had to lift stones for different statement. We have been discussing alternatives each day, starting with cosmetic products, up to agriculture, shopping etc. We wanted to make good practices more popular. Hungary, Romania, Poland, Serbia, and Italy all face poor management of natural resources and a lack of implementation of sustainable measures, in local administrations and at grassroots levels. Through this project, we aimed to raise awareness among youth and give them incentives and tools to take action. The project's objectives were: O1. To make youth from our target group, aged 18-30, coming from Hungary, Romania, Poland, Serbia, and Italy more aware of the consequences of human impact on global warming and to incentivize them to find creative solutions to the problem through non-formal educational and experiential learning methods. O2. To empower youth from our target group to take action locally, at a grassroots level, in terms of ecological sustainability, creating more cohesion in the local communities, by providing them with the tools, reasons, and know-how on how to take initiative. O3. To develop soft skills and the 8 key competences among participants in the mobility through carefully chosen tools and methods such as debating, role-play, team-building games, simulations, and outdoor activities. We wanted youth, passing this further to the general society, to be more in touch with nature, to better understand the consequences of our actions, encouraging more initiative to preserve and protect what we are connected to. We aimed to introduce youth from our countries non-formal education activities, meet people from other countries, step out of their comfort zones, and explore their full potential. The methods used in the youth exchange had been previously tested in other projects, and positive results had been observed. They needed to be aware of their skills to make improvements in their daily lives, pursue their own goals, and become the best versions of themselves. The activities proposed were chosen to increase the level of engagement in long-term activities related to personal education, helping young people successfully manage the challenges they faced in their daily lives. Our objective was connected with the Erasmus+ Program and New Narrative Europe’s focus on the labor market and employability because we also aimed, through this project, to improve the chances of youth to get employed and continue their learning process throughout their entire lives after developing skills, friendships and plenty of knowledge.
