"Playful Mind" aimed to raise awareness about mental and emotional well-being and focused on building down the taboo nature of the topic. 20 young pax and 4 group leaders from 4 countries were involved in the project. The exchange addressed the need for young people to be more aware of their emotional status and preserve their mental well-being. We achieved the objective of providing an educational experience to the young pax where they felt confident to express themselves about their emotions (both positive and negative) freely without fearing social judgment. On a more practical level, the youth exchange lasted seven days, during which youngsters participated in non-formal and informal sessions and workshops. The program achieved the following main objectives: provide reliable sources of information about mental and emotional well-being; equip pax with methods that can help to understand emotions better and handle everyday stress; support the integration of behaviours and practices that can maintain mental and emotional well-being in daily routine; promote the cooperation between the organisations and the partners in the field of youth mobility and social awareness. In addition, "Playful Mind" helped the young pax to develop the following skills and knowledge: methodologies to recognise better and understand their own and others' emotions, take care of their mental and emotional well-being, learn improvisation to represent and express emotional and mental states, methods to perceive other people emotional needs and to undertake meaningful social interaction, instruments to analyse critically social models and media representation of youth's emotional and mental issues. The personal and social development of pax as active European citizens is one of the main objectives that the project pursued by strengthening bonds between the youngsters through the common European values of solidarity, inclusion, and cooperation. The youth exchange enabled the pax to improve their ability to communicate in a multilingual context. They developed social skills and teamwork abilities to connect and exchange experiences with peers from different cultures. The project also aligned with the framework of the EU Youth Strategy, and it was able to pursue one of the 11 European Youth Goals: the development of mental health and well-being. To a minor extent, the project also pursued a second European Youth Goal by supporting their ability to evaluate information critically and engage in participatory and constructive dialogue. Finally, “Playful Mind” was able to achieve objectives aligned with the Erasmus+ programme because it enabled the empowering of young people on a social level by developing their mental and emotional awareness and stimulating their active participation in democratic life.
