Objectives

The needs analisys: - unfortunately, like other disadvantaged settlements, our settlement is aging relatively quickly - young people have very few opportunities for entertainment and useful free time - there is no community center, no youth club where they can discuss their problems - there is no cohesive young community, no common representation of interests - they do not really enjoy their civil rights, they are not aware of them - they do not keep in touch with the local bodies, they do not feel that they can have a say in the life of the settlement, as well as in the life of their own age group - they don't really find their place in the local older community - there is no support service for them in the settlement (job search advice, further education advice, assistance in interviews, etc.) - they want a more livable settlement for young people, more services - they would like the municipality to cooperate with them in this, to listen to their needs and help them in their implementation to the best of their ability That is why the young people want to implement a project in the framework of which they will create a youth self-government. The youth self-government will function as part of the local settlement self-government. It convenes young people on a monthly basis, where they talk about current problems and tasks and look for solutions together. The representatives forward the common position reached to the local government. Thanks to this, they become familiar with their basic citizenship rights and obligations and learn to apply them. Our aim is therefore that the young people we educate: - help with the self-organization of local young people and their formation into a community - organize regular discussion forums and hearings where young people, regardless of gender, race, religion or education, can express their opinions and express their needs - form the joint representation of interests and establish the local youth self-government - in this way they will be an active part of the life of the settlement, making it more livable for young people - the participating young people are helped to exercise their citizenship rights and they are introduced to their obligations as well - thereby becoming active citizens - they will feel the settlement as their own - they can identify with local needs and strive to solve local problems - they become familiar with the concept of solidarity - they form a cohesive community - exercise their civil rights, use the opportunity to form an opinion and make a choice - young people are given the opportunity to participate in the democratic life of local communities - they get involved in civil society life - thereby the local civil, economic, social, cultural and political participation of young people is realized - they will be enlightened about the Union - we increase their awareness of common European values and fundamental rights - we contribute to their European integration - establishing contact between young people and local decision-makers, they gain insight into national and EU decision-making processes - in the meantime, they get to know the digital tools and technologies that they can use to assert their interests and exercise their voting rights - their media awareness develops They realize that the only way to solve the problems of the local youth, to transform the settlement into a more livable community for the youth, is if they express their opinions, make their voices heard and propose solutions to the municipality. They take their own destiny into their own hands.
