The National Youth Council of Hungary is in charge of coordinating the European Youth Dialogue in Hungary. The EU Youth Dialogue works on the implementation of the so called: Youth Goals. At European, national and regional level, the EU Youth Dialogue works with the Youth Goals to shape policy in the interests of young people. The 11 European Youth Goals summarise the issues that affect young people in Europe and the political priorities that are important to them. The Youth Goals show in which areas change still has to happen so that young people in Europe can use their full potential. Around 50,000 young people took part in a Europe-wide survey in 2018. Based on this survey, the 11 Youth Goals were formulated with concrete sub-goals under scientific supervision. All EU countries were involved in the development of the Youth Goals and support them. The Youth Goals have been included in the EU Youth Strategy. We also want to fulfill these goals with our project, we specifically focus on the area of the 4th goal, i.e. Information & Constructive Dialogue. Young people experience difficulties to verify the accuracy and reliability of information. They need to be more adequately equipped to navigate the media landscape and to participate in constructive dialogue. The trainings and free universities implemented in the project focused on the effects of the digital transition and social media. Therefore, we are carrying out a social media campaign with the involvement of experts and speakers recognized in the field. With their help, after assessing the needs of the young people, we can transfer such experiential knowledge through the transfer of various methods, as a result of which the participating young people will undergo effective development and can develop their digital competences, problem-solving skills, and attitude to critical thinking. And all this in cross-border groups and in a good environment, which further helps development and the success of the project.
