The goal of our project was for the young people of three cities to unite and launch an online and offline campaign for the sake of environmental protection and at the same time democratic local public life, on the basis of which a fundamental change of attitude can be achieved. During the program, we recognized and experienced that young people are receptive to environmental protection and want to do much more for it. Our goal was to generate this momentum in three countries, so that we could achieve change not only in the 13-30 age group, but also among broad groups locally. Adequate achievement and effectiveness of the project's objectives and results were assessed through continuous evaluation and feedback. Evaluation processes were integrated into the schedule and several online and face-to-face meetings were held with participants to continuously monitor project progress and effectiveness. Completed objectives: Launch of attitude-changing campaigns: We successfully launched joint campaigns in all three cities, which encouraged local residents to protect their environment and not litter. For example, we held garbage collection campaigns and lectures. Involvement of local communities: In the second phase of the campaigns, we targeted a wider target group and successfully involved the young communities of the cities, which further increased participation and interest. Community development programs: In the third phase of the project, we launched programs aimed at the development of communities, such as tree planting and community gardens. These activities strengthened environmental awareness and forged communities together. Cooperation and international distribution: We succeeded in creating international cooperation in the field of environmental protection, and we successfully promoted the program at the European level as well. Results exceeding initial expectations: Increased participation and interest: We experienced an ever-increasing participation and interest in all three cities, which shows that young people and local communities are open to environmental and democratic initiatives. Strengthening of communities: During the project, the communities came into closer contact with local organizations and institutions, which in the long term can help the implementation of new similar initiatives and community participation. Overall, the project was successful in raising awareness of the importance of environmental protection and bringing communities together for the cause. Based on the experience, we can take further steps to fulfill the objectives and increase the efficiency of the projects.
