Objectives

The IMAGINARIUM: step into the Multiverse project intends to provide young people with the tools to take control of their lives, to allow them not to succumb to a future made uncertain by graphic changes, demo trends, discrimination, social exclusion, but to stand out and strengthen their resilience to be able to adapt to these challenges. The goal is to do it through art, to invest in the cultural participation of young people. The arts are a tool for identification, dialogue and comparison that promotes processes of empathy; the arts are a vehicle for a message of inclusion that embraces and celebrates diversity as a positive source of learning, rather than as a cause of exclusion, hatred or prejudice. In this sense, the Multiverse refers to the diversities that young people can bring with them, or that they may or may not define and appreciate. As stated in the Erasmus + Strategy for Inclusion and Diversity and the European Solidarity Corps, the social contexts from which they come are differentiated by cultures, skills, social groups, sexuality, political opinions, identity, education, training, levels of literacy and much more; likewise, diversity can lead to fewer or greater chances of inclusion. Giving value and recognition to diversity is the goal of the project; the instrument chosen is that of the arts in various forms. Just as art feeds on diversity to enrich its own expressive power, in the same way young people are called to treasure the diversity of the world, enrich themselves and, thus, expand that range of possibilities with which to look to the future which, otherwise, would be particularly limited. The goal is to mitigate the risk for the most vulnerable subjects of being excluded from the centrifugal social mechanism, making them not only protagonists of the process of ideation, development and creation of creative concepts, but also actors able to use these concepts to confront each other on specific issues. That can enrich their cultural background. In this way, they will acquire a greater awareness of identity, will have the opportunity to know and explore their talent and will sharpen their ability for critical reflection that will allow them to better extricate themselves from the difficulties of life. Imaginarium: enter the Multiverse pursues the following specific objectives: - Create a creative and stimulating space that allows young people to express their sensitivity in a creative and artistic way; - Promote the enabling and empowerment of young people through artistic-creative processes; - Experiment, reflect and discuss the often discriminatory differences between different European cultures and realities by strengthening empathy, identification, active and reflective listening; - Widen the "personal boundaries" of young people leading them to a greater awareness of themselves, their talents and growth from the confrontation with the different; - Increase the sense of autonomy and independence of young people; - Empower young people to make decision-making related to their life choices; - Promote an image of Europe based on culture, dialogue and constructive and inclusive comparison; - Strengthen key competence in cultural awareness and expression; - Collect and disseminate the results and experiences gained within the project for the benefit of the community.
