The project saw the creation of a training course for Youth Workers on digital storytelling techniques applied to environmental education and the fight against climate change. In particular, the project had the following objectives: • provide innovative tools for the promotion of an ecological culture within the communities in which young people live, with a focus on storytelling methodologies, proposed in such a way as to be adaptable to the different operational contexts of the youth workers participating in the course; • raise awareness among participants of the issues of environmental sustainability in youth education, also through an exchange of experiences between participants and organizations from different partner countries. The methodology adopted by the course, as anticipated, was that of storytelling, and in particular the use of video narration, in its various forms: video interview and participatory video. The project wanted to respond to some needs common to the partner organizations: • increase the skills of youth workers related to the promotion of environmental issues within their educational actions aimed at young people; • improve the ability to promote change within their own contexts, in particular with regard to issues related to environmental sustainability; • strengthen awareness of their educational role in a European context. To this end, the specific objectives of the course included: • provide key skills in autobiographical methods and digital storytelling that young operators could use in their daily work; • help youth workers to gain greater awareness of environmental issues, and of the role of young people as promoters of change; • increase specific skills related to the use of video storytelling methods in activating young people in actions to defend the environment.
