This youth participation activity was born following a previous project (RescEU) implemented by CIME between 2020 and 2022; after seeing the potential in the methodology produced, synergies have been created between some organisations: thanks to this meeting, RescEU 2.0 was born; the main idea is to continue this process of raising awareness and informing young people, following what has already started with the former project; therefore, the goal is to bring young citizens closer to the European Union, providing instruments and high-quality information of its structure and functioning (in view of the European elections of 2024), of its resources and opportunities, thus increasing the sense of European citizenship. In fact, the process will see a strengthening of the impact on a national scale, to meet the needs previously expressed by young people and to welcome new ones. The general objective we want to pursue is to provide young people with support and tools so that they feel motivated, committed and involved in the European political dimension and get to the elections informed and able to choose autonomously. As a consequence, we aim to increase the participation of young people in political life, and to ensure that this awareness process starts from the school sector, given that a further purpose of this project is to integrate non-formal education methods in the curricular hours of Civic Education of upper secondary schools in Italy. Therefore, once the general objective has been defined, the specific goals of the project are: OB1: Increase participation of young people in political life with particular reference to the 2024 European Elections OB2: Increase awareness of young people on the values and general benefits of the European Union OB3: Integrate non-formal education methods in the curricular hours of Civic Education of upper secondary schools in Italy
