Project Goals for 2030 was conceptualized after leaders of Skristi kitaip, YEC, EUROSUD, Smokinya, La Vibria Intercultural and Brno for you observed that environmental sustainability in youth work and among youngsters is an important issue, but it is difficult to put it in practice as a continuous habit. There is a need to have the bridge between theory and practice. Youth workers don’t insert sustainability features in their projects and youth only pay attention to environmental sustainability as the media and climate activists ring the bell on Global climate change dangers. Taking into consideration the multiple challenges we face as a universe with air pollution, climate change, deforestation, it was a high time to collaborate and create Goals for 2030 to help as many as possible to be more environmentally sustainable and friendly. According to scientific observations, we live on a planet which is in crisis, with climate change being one of the key problems, along with air pollution, deforestation, plastic pollution in oceans that make our actions towards sustainability a necessity, not a choice. The objectives of this project were: - 60 youngsters and 12 leaders to understand the multiple aspects of sustainability; - to support youth to make their projects more sustainable (including social, economic, environmental aspects) to support youth to learn about sustainability and support others to make changes in their lives; - to understand that sustainability challenges such as climate change are global, interdisciplinary and systemic and need collaboration worldwide to be tackled; - to create 12 video tutorials about how to promote sustainable lifestyle to people and how to build mini initiatives about sustainability; - help youth to create sustainable projects (an initiative that will tackle an issue like rubbish, air pollution, climate change) big or small in order to help others to become more sustainable, make changes in their life and create sustainable projects on their own; - to live in a simulative sustainable community two times for 10 days; - to design a follow up 6 (one of each partner) activities in their local community or follow the project they designed during the YE; - to disseminate the knowledge acting as multipliers and share the skills acquired during the YE promoting the video tutorials and continuing their - designed project; - to strengthen cooperation between partner organisations and to provide them with the idea to develop new projects for sustainability or with sustainability principles. Our main aim was to give youth the skills and information and support them to raise awareness about sustainability, to help others to become more sustainable, to give them the space to make their projects more sustainable and create initiatives in and outside the programme to promote sustainability. Goals for 2030 focused on one of the Erasmus+ priorities: Environment and fight against climate change. Environment and climate action are key priorities for the EU now and in the future. The European Green Deal Communication is the European new growth strategy and recognises the key role to engage with pupils and the wider community on the changes needed for a successful transition to become climate neutral by 2050. Objectives were linked to the Erasmus+ objectives and priorities: - support participants in the acquisition of competencies and help them improve their personal development and employability in the labour market and beyond; - support the professional development of those who work in education, training and youth with a view to innovating and improving the quality of teaching, training and youth work; - increase the capacities, attractiveness and international dimension of organizations active in the education, training and youth fields so that they are able to offer activities and programmes that better respond to the needs of individuals - enhance awareness of the participants and insert the idea of long term vision as seen by the EU and the 2030 vision about sustainable development and sustainable development goals. It contributes for example in SDG4 for quality education, SDG 13 about climate change, SDG 11 about sustainable communities and cities and SG12 sustainable consumption and on other SDGs related to sustainability.
