Objectives

The goal of the project "Be healthy together" was to strengthen young people's attitude towards themselves and others, to help them discover the priorities of a healthy lifestyle as well as help participants develop critical thinking and approach to social media. The objectives of the project were: - Encourage communication and cooperation with each other through interactive games and activities rather than extreme usage of digital devices and social media. - To help young people to get out of their comfort zone during activities and interactions, become more active participants and learn to express themselves clearly and not be afraid to say "no"; - To help all participants learn that it's important to love and accept themselves, overcome anxiety and understand the harms of different kinds and ways of bullying. Young people face new trends and stereotypes (about appearance, sexuality, social status, etc.) on a daily basis in every part of the world. It has been proved that it has a negative impact on the mental health of young people. This problem occured and still occurs among all the age groups that are considered young people. For example, the way youth think about appearance is under a huge influence of the fitness community. Social media shows exemplary people whose lives are to be imitated, leaving no room for diversity. It was also seen, that there are a lot of pictures of propaganda promoting hate towards minorities. Therefore it was necessary to promote that any kind of hate speech through all the different channels of social media is never tolerated. Since this problem is world-wide the problem occurs clearly in the daily life of young people and often results in mental-health problems. This project was initially discussed among a group of young people form Lithuania, Italy and Finland who met in a "Partnership Building Activity in Utoya" in Norway in June, 2022. During the event they shared important topics of their local communities and were looking for possibilities to try to change the situation concerning mental health and well being issues among young people as it was a problem in every part of the world, especially after the lockdown due to the COVID 19 pandemic. The main idea of this project was to fulfil young people's aims listed during one of the online meetings and they were: - to hear the opinions of young people, share different experiences so that youngsters can learn from one another. - to learn new things about physical activities connection to individual's mental health. - to discuss and educate about critical thinking on what they see on social media and help to learn living without using digital devices 24/7. - to get more self-confident and be ready to make changes by helping other teenagers to deal with stress in the future. - to improve personal knowledge about different cultures and make connections with young people in different countries.
