Objectives

The objectives of the "I Got the Power" project were multifaceted, aiming to address the issue of gender equality, discrimination, and social inclusion through outdoor education. Here is a breakdown of the project's objectives: 1. Raise awareness on gender equality and the existing gender gaps in various aspects of European society, including the labor market, economic independence, and representation in decision-making positions. 2. The project sought to challenge the traditional perceptions of gender roles and the role of men and women in modern Europe by engaging young people in a dialogue and discussions about these issues. 3. The project recognized the power of outdoor education and used it as a tool to make the issue of gender equality more relatable and engaging for participants. Through hiking and various outdoor education methods, the project aimed to simulate real-life situations, creating a more interesting and engaging learning environment. 4. The project planned to simulate the creation of a new society in which roles, tasks, and responsibilities would be commonly and gender-sensitively defined and agreed upon, promoting the idea that gender equality is possible and can be achieved. 5. The project aimed to challenge the structures within society that undermine social inclusion or foster discrimination and sought to create initiatives to promote gender equality in the sending communities. 6. By bringing together young people from four different countries, the project aimed to foster intercultural and interreligious dialogue, promoting a broader understanding of discrimination and stereotypes related to different religions and cultures. 7. The project focused on the pedagogical dimension of outdoor education in a non-formal educational context. It aimed to use various methods to engage participants with different learning styles and create a balance between theory and practice. 8. To create an eye-catching content promoting gender equality, which was distributed through social media channels across Europe to further spread the message of equality. In summary, the "I Got the Power" project had the overarching goal of promoting gender equality, challenging stereotypes and discrimination, and fostering an inclusive and equal society through outdoor education and cross-cultural exchange. The project's objectives were designed to create a transformative and impactful experience for the participating young people and to inspire them to take action for a more gender-equal and inclusive world.
