Objectives

EU28 shows that the most required skills for young people nowadays are tech and ICT skills. Multiple industries value knowledge in these fields. In 2006 the European Parliament and the European Council published a recommendation that included the most required skills and competencies. They revealed the essential importance of eight competencies among which digital competence had an important role. Though all the competencies are equally important and interrelated, still some competencies were described to be among the most important ones from which maybe the rest of the competencies somehow derive. In the context of demanded ICT skills, one can hardly imagine his/her life without rapidly growing social media. Social media offers us many opportunities to learn and be entertained, also it is a great platform for sharing opportunities, thoughts, or some problems. Crowdfunding online saved a lot of lives, online videos about global warming changed a lot of people, and stories about discrimination made people more open-minded. Social platforms are changing the present, that’s why we need to know how to use them and how to control them. The specific objectives were following: - To foster cooperation and build the capacity of participating youth organizations in terms of literate use of social media and to transfer and exchange knowledge in the field of Erasmus+ projects with particular attention to the use of social media channels; - To give in-depth knowledge about social issues on the local and national levels. To increase awareness of the following topics: climate change, gender inequality, youth unemployment, racism& migration problems; - To support the learning process and professionalization of participating youth workers in the field of social media methods; - To develop more methods in learning the human rights process in an easy language; - To increase youth workers and young people’s competitive аdvаntаges in using social media to tackle social problems in their local communities; - The young people participating in the project will obtain skills and competencies allowing them to increase their own proficiency in organizational management, communication, and strategic planning.
