The "Cook it Up" project was initiated to address the critical issues of youth unemployment and the lack of entrepreneurial skills, particularly among young people from disadvantaged backgrounds. We have decided together with partners that are working on similar topics that we wanted to create a youth exchange in which cooking is used as a tool to increase the employability of youngsters. By employability, we mean specifically entrepreneurial skills which go hand in hand with cooking such as time management, taking initiative, cooperation, budgeting, planning, teamwork, communication, etc. Through Cook it Up we wanted to make youngsters more aware of their possibilities in becoming an entrepreneur and increase their skills and competences through exchanging information on how entrepreneurship works in every country and region of the partners. In this way they learned more on how to create their own job and generate their own income in the future, specifically in the field of cooking in this particular project. We feel it is necessary since the youth unemployment rate is high in the rural regions where all partners in the Cook it Up project are located. We want to include youngsters aged between 16-22 who are considered as fewer opportunity in more aspects. During the project we focused on implementing the basic skills of entrepreneurship, communication and cooperation. Cook It Up stimulates entrepreneurial learning to youngsters with fewer opportunities, coming from rural areas, focused on communication and cooperation in which cooking is used as a tool. The objectives of Cook It Up were: -- To bring 5 disadvantaged youngsters aged 16 - 24 and 6 youth leaders together in an PV in order to prepare the youth exchange and all its aspects - To bring 32 disadvantaged youngsters aged 16 - 24 and 6 youth leaders together in an exchange and exchange best practices regarding local entrepreneurship and to stimulate entrepreneurial learning. - To make youngsters realize their potentials in taking initiative and increasing their autonomy - To let youngsters exchange current entrepreneurial advantages and disadvantages regarding the food industry in the participating rural areas - To let the youngsters create and disseminate several products in order to spread the project results and outcomes, this includes videos regarding local food products, a pop-up cooking workshop, articles, social media updates on the partners website. In summary, Cook it Up aimed to empower young people by providing them with the tools and knowledge needed for successful and sustainable entrepreneurship. By focusing on practical skills, sustainability, employability, active citizenship, and networking, we aimed to create a lasting impact on the participants and their communities. The project highlights our commitment to fostering a new generation of socially responsible entrepreneurs who are equipped to tackle the challenges of the modern world.
