Objectives

Over the years, mankind has recognized the importance of citizens' involvement in the government. Unfortunately, even if citizens have the right to make a change by voting, not in every country does the level of turnout reach the highest point. For instance, in countries like Lithuania, Romania, and Spain, the number of people who do their civic duty and participate in elections has decreased enormously. In order to increase the number of voting people, we decided to raise awareness about politics and the importance of active citizenship. The primary goal of this project was to train youth workers on how to motivate young people to vote and become involved in their country's governance. To solve the problem of falling domestic election popularity, our organization set the following objectives:  1) raise awareness about the importance of participating in the (local, regional, national, and European) elections so that democracy; 2) provide youth workers with appropriate knowledge about the democracy and politics of the European Union; 3) create tools to promote active citizenship amongst youngsters; 4) create means for sharing experiences and good practices between youth workers and organizations in the field of active citizenship and show them how they can shape and affect their country just by themselves;
