Objectives

The main aim was: During a 7 days training course, youth workers will develop their diversity and inclusion-related competences by using reflection and inclusion tools that would support their everyday work on creating a supportive and equal learning environment for young people. Objectives: To offer participants an opportunity to reflect and discover their personal biases; Increase youth workers' self-awareness and adaptiveness while working with young persons from diverse backgrounds; To allow participants to develop their design and facilitation skills by developing sessions that can later be transferred to local realities; Develop participants' understandings of communities and media and how they are influencing our perception of selves and others. We believe that to increase youth participation we have to develop youth workers who are more able to connect and include young people. They are not afraid of differences and understand how diversity can be an asset instead of a threat. We intended that by the end of the course, youth workers have developed their competencies in a way that they are able to organise and facilitate diversity and inclusion-related topics with diverse groups of young people (or fellow youth workers). They will also have ideas and connections to include digital learning into their everyday work through organising for example online session/connection minutes with young people from other participating countries.
