We wanted to educate the public about the crucial role that pollinators play in ecosystems and their significance in food production. Our goal was to give the community a comprehensive understanding of the consequences of a decline in pollinator populations. We aimed to showcase the influential role young people can play in driving change. Our hope was to not only achieve the project's immediate outcomes but to also foster a sense of responsibility and activism among the young participants. We wanted people to understand that local challenges often mirror larger, global concerns. Through this project, we sought to inspire individuals to adopt sustainable practices in their everyday lives. Understanding the importance of green spaces for both pollinators and people, we aimed to emphasize their preservation and highlight their dual role in our community.
We applied for this project thanks to the enthusiasm and interest shown by our youngsters in environmental topics. They highlighted the importance of preserving green spaces for pollinators and also for people as recreational areas. We wanted to show our young members how important it is to drive change even at a young age. We had identified a problem where people didn't fully grasp the wider effects of the decreasing number of pollinators. The project aimed to bridge this gap by educating the public about the critical role of pollinators in ecosystems and food production. We wanted to connect local environmental issues, such as the pollinator problem, with global challenges like climate change and habitat destruction. By highlighting the interconnectedness of these issues, we aimed to encourage the public to think beyond the local problems and consider broader environmental concerns. We wanted to encourage people to adopt sustainable practices in their daily lives, contributing to a reduction in carbon footprint and overall environmental improvement.
