According to Demand Metric, in partnership with Vidyard, 83% of survey respondents said that digital content was increasing its importance in the world of digital PR & Marketing. Various digital video-making apps for marketing purposes continued to gain popularity. However, the percentage of young people lacking appropriate digital skills necessary for digital PR and Marketing was rising. It seemed natural that digital applications were a part of our everyday life and study process. The visual and auditory nature of digital skills and marketing appealed to a wide audience and allowed each user to process information. Video as a versatile and engaging content format in digital PR and Marketing not only gives us a real-life picture of what was going on but is also easy to share across multiple platforms. Nowadays video/digital marketing is also very accessible to anyone with internet access, both to produce and to watch. Therefore, it was possible for young people from different countries to acquire video making, directing and editing skills to be more competitive in various professions directly and indirectly connected to digital skills and marketing. Gaining appropriate skills in the digital world, thanks to creative and short video making tools, the youth were also able to disseminate Youth Exchanges’ goals and outcomes by telling their success stories, sharing their projects’ results visually, talking about the impact on themselves and their peers, as well offering valuable experience and information to other young people living in their communities/countries. This project allowed youth from different countries to improve skills in the digital world, in video content making/editing and digital marketing. It promoted teamwork in an international environment and boosted the youth’s self-confidence in personal digital competencies, which not only benefited the participants themselves but also their organisations (for instance, while disseminating their projects’ outcomes and results at local, national and international levels). This Youth Exchange aimed to offer a nurturing creative space where young people could put skills and knowledge gained into practice by creating their own unique, attractive and distinct videos. All of these further promoted non-formal learning and the Youth Exchange’s results as such. Thus the Youth Exchange aimed to: • Provide enough space for youth to gain and exchange skills and knowledge in the digital world, digital applications, video making apps, learning to create short quality videos for presentation/dissemination purposes digitally; • Promote popular digital PR & Marketing, increase the key digital competencies of young people; • Encourage creative expression and digital socialization; •Exchange experiences between young people of different professional, national and cultural backgrounds, using a common means of expression; • Promote international communication and exchange, multicultural dialogue and cooperation/friendship between youth of different cultures; • Expand the international network of the youth; • Promote youth active participation in E+ projects, cross-cultural communication, intercultural dialogue, tolerance, non-formal learning, as well as European added values.
