“Sustainable Fashion Practices” was created by young people in response to fast fashion issues and overconsumption of clothing. The project aimed to educate participants on sustainable fashion and environmental protection, as well as provide them with practical skills in clothing alterations such as remaking, redesigning, repairing, and upcycling. To inspire participants to make ethical decisions and become responsible consumers, and to encourage them to develop national and international initiatives as ambassadors for sustainable living on a national and international scale, the ultimate goal of the project was to inspire ethical choices and responsible consumption. Environmental activists from countries that had previously participated in Erasmus+ projects initiated and developed the project. In addition to the topic of sustainable fashion, partners joined the project for various other reasons. An action plan was developed to achieve several specific objectives of the " Sustainable Fashion Practices " project. The objectives included creating a safe, empowering learning space for participants to share competences and practices; and promoting sustainable fashion through a discussion forum on the differences between fast and slow fashion. A group discussion, interactive presentation, research project, and brainstorming session were among the activities during which participants gained skills from each other and interacted with the local community. Educationa and informative sustainable consumption habits by raising awareness through interactive activities, by examining and addressing the environmental impacts and pollution caused by fast fashion. The aim was to raise participants' awareness about the environmental impact of their consumption choices and equip them with the knowledge and skills to embrace sustainable practices. We facilitated discussions on developing a sustainable wardrobe and adopting ethical shopping habits. Workshops were organized to educate participants about eco-friendly alternatives like second-hand clothing and upcycling. These workshops covered the entire life cycle of clothes, including the resources used, the workforce involved, and the negative environmental consequences. Visual content and movies, simulations, research, and group discussions were utilized to explore different forms of sustainable fashion. Our goal was to provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of the environmental impact of clothing production and consumption, while also introducing them to more sustainable options. Practical skills in upcycling clothes, such as repairing and redesigning through sewing and embroidery, were taught through hands-on activities. Participants had the opportunity to practice sewing, embroidering, and knitting using old fabrics. They were also encouraged to fix their own clothes and take part in a clothes exchange event. We also shared best practices from other countries on youth involvement in addressing fast fashion. Through workshops, participants shared their successful practices and inspired others to adopt similar approaches. Our focus was on empowering young people and encouraging their active participation through various events and campaigns. Participants were given the chance to be creative and develop awareness campaigns and workshops that could be shared online or offline, inspiring others to learn about the topic. Lastly, we promoted the idea of thinking globally and acting locally. Activities were designed to encourage participants to consider the global impact of their actions and take steps towards more sustainable practices in their daily lives. To promote diversity, multicultural inclusion, creativity, and teamwork, we organized various activities that encouraged interaction and collaboration among participants. These activities included workshops, an intercultural night, and fashion show event. In order to educate participants about the Erasmus+ program and its opportunities, we conducted two dedicated sessions on the topic. Additionally, we held preparation meetings before the start of the activity to provide participants with important information. To ensure the project's sustainability, we created a blog ( https://sustainablefashionpractices.wordpress.com/ ) to document the entire project. This blog contained all the necessary information about the project, allowing for easy access and reference. We also focused on supporting partnership-building and project development on both local and international levels. By establishing strong bonds with our partners, we were able to continue our cooperation even after the project ended. Lastly, we provided support to our partners and participants in disseminating the results and transferring their competences to their peers. We encouraged them to share their knowledge and skills with others, contributing to the overall growth and development of the community.
