ABOUT OUR PROJECT 2023 Many young people are currently concerned about the climate. According to research by NJi in the Netherlands, 75% of all young people worldwide. Many young people do not know how to take action. We wanted to change this with our We Grow Together (WGT) for Climate Education & Entrepreneurship Project 2023! In 2022, we started the WGT for Climate Education & Entrepreneurship project with 8 partners and we have experienced that with the Project and our diverse group of young people we can learn a lot with and from each other and make an important contribution to change in our very divers countries.That is why we continued in 2023 under the same name, with 1 additional country, so that the WGT youth community continued to grow. In our WGT 2023 project we organized 3 online and 2 live events for preparation, implementation and evaluation of our 'WGT Live Week'. This year with partners and young people from 9 countries: 5 'European' and 4 'Neighboring' countries. Precisely to bridge the major differences in awareness about inclusion and climate among young people from these countries and to make an impact in all countries. In the Project, young people learned from and with each other about inclusion and climate themes and challenged each other to organize local, small-scale activities for 3 European YouthGoals in their own country before the 'WGT Live Week' took place in Austria in September. 3 YouthGoals related to inclusion and climate. So that they became more aware of social inclusion and climate changes, actively contributed to the YouthGoals and learned how to take action on themes that they are concerned about. In the Project, 4 young people from the Netherlands, Austria, Bosnia and Albania took the lead in organizing the 'WGT Dialogue Event' during the 'WGT Live Week' in Austria. They chose 'The Right to Climate Education & Entrepreneurship for all youth' as the theme for the dialogue between young people and decision makers. By the dialogue all participants experienced how you can stand up for your own statement and how you can use the 'appreciative' dialogue to arrive at a shared vision and then make an initial plan for collaboration. OBJECTIVES OF OUR PROJECT - Awareness among young people about inclusion and climate themes and the benefits of working together in a diverse youth community - Discovering that you are not the only one who is worried - Inspiring each other to get started in your own local community - Discovering through example projects and startups, how you can learn from and with each other and how you can work on inclusive climate solutions yourself, with young people from your community - Experiencing, in dialogue with young people and decision-makers from very divers countries, how you can share your vision and ideas on important themes, how you can arrive at a shared vision and create an initial plan for sustainable cooperation. - Participating in the WGT community so that after the WGT Project 2023 you can continue working on your idea for change as an active citizen with like-minded young people and partners to make an impact.
