Objectives

Our planet is under domination and pressure of huge pollution. The huge amount of pollution is one of the main reasons for rapid global warming and climate change. It is clear that the principle reason of this is human activities. Human activities (such as high level of pollution, burning fossil fuels, deforestation, industrial-agricultural activity, over consuming, lack of recycling, overconsumption etc.) cause global warming by increasing the amount of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere. First of all, we wanted to underline this very truth and show it once more again to our participants. We aimed to remind our participants that everyone should take responsibility and raise awareness for the positive effects of sustainable recycling. This can happen by implementing “awareness activities” all around world. We know that youth can lead those activities very actively. On the other hand, there are many ways to challenge global warming since the possibility of positive change is still in our hands. Big, effective, local and global actions can be taken and solutions can be found. Attribution is possible and it is known that global warming is, partially, reversible such as reducing pollution by “recycling” and “reducing waste”. We can start from making cuts in emission by stopping to pollute and waste. In this manner, we wanted to implement our project by gathering youngster from different countries and let them to: - be aware of reasons behind global warming and results from rapid environmental changes, - built the knowledge, skills, and attitudes on climate change, - know about how reducing waste and recycling can decrease the amount of greenhouse gases, - engage youngster in areas which promote strategic and sustainable growth, - reflect on environmental issues and find greener - alternatives for nature protection, - be aware of the possible consequences of global warming, - learn about how recycling and reusing materials (plastics, metals, papers etc.) can save more energy and help our planet to recover, - discuss about the 8R (Recycle, Rent, Reduce, Rethink, Refurbish, Reuse, Repair, Renew) and promote them, - learn how to apply the 8R to daily life, - define the main problems/causes of pollution and find new ways for reducing them, - learn about clean and renewable energy by focusing on sustainable environment and livable future, - discuss about useful practices for protecting the nature (for example reduce water usage and food consumption, change daily habits, using public transportation more, considering green travel), - analyze the local practices (from partner countries) and compare them to each other, - learn about the sustainability, eco-friendly actions, nature protection, and recycling system in Norway and Turkey, - be informed about EU’s policy for nature protection and foster them.
