Objectives

The ProMeta project aims to utilize the Metaverse as a tool for youth workers to foster better engagement with young people, enhancing both their personal and professional development in navigating the next generation of the internet within a digitalized and rapidly changing society. The project seeks to develop digital skills and competencies in forward-looking fields such as VR/XR/AR, which are crucial for Europe's future sustainable growth and cohesion. It contributes to stimulating innovation and bridging Europe's knowledge, skills, and competencies gap. Additionally, ProMeta supports and facilitates transnational and international cooperation between organizations in education, training, and youth fields. It promotes non-formal and informal learning mobility, active participation among young people, and cooperation, quality inclusion, creativity, and innovation at the organizational and policy levels in the youth field. The expected outputs include the development of a Guideline on Metaverse for Youth Workers by Non-Formal learning methods and the creation of Audio-Visual digital content on Metaverse in the field of Youth.

Background

The ProMeta project was initiated to address the emerging significance of the Metaverse and its potential impact on society, particularly the youth. It identifies a crucial gap in the digital competencies of youth workers, aiming to enable them to better engage with young people in digital environments. Bridging the Digital Knowledge Gap: It seeks to update youth workers' skills to keep pace with technological advances, ensuring they remain relevant and effective. Enhancing Communication: Improving interaction between youth workers and young people through the Metaverse, creating more engaging experiences. Promoting Safe Navigation: Aims to guide young people safely through the Metaverse, highlighting educational opportunities while mitigating risks. Supporting Learning: Focuses on developing guidelines and educational programs to recognize and validate non-formal and informal learning experiences. Fostering Collaboration: Encourages alignment with EU policies and collaboration among organizations to innovate in non-formal education in the youth sector. By equipping youth workers with essential skills and knowledge, ProMeta strives for a more inclusive, innovative, and safe digital environment
