"Tales about humanity" was a common project of young people from Poland, Hungary, and Slovakia. Within the project, we discussed the topic of preventing and counteracting negative phenomena, such as discrimination, intolerance, xenophobia, racism, exclusion, lack of empathy, and showing humanity to another person, as well as positive values rooted in our cultures, i.e. tolerance, openness, empathy, selfless help, solidarity, showing humanity in difficult situations. As part of the project, we used legends and fairy tales as sources of moral values and positive behavior worth imitating. The goals we achieved within the project were: - broadening knowledge and raising awareness of negative behavior, ie discrimination, intolerance, xenophobia, racism, exclusion, lack of empathy, and showing humanity to another person; - broadening knowledge and raising awareness of the possibility of reacting and counteracting these negative phenomena; - developing attitudes such as tolerance, openness, empathy, selfless help, and solidarity; - broadening knowledge about our cultures through the prism of fairy tales, legends, and tales, which constitute a collection and source of valuable values, morals, and behaviors worth following; - raising the level of awareness and cultural identity in the context of such attitudes as tolerance, humanity, solidarity, or selfless help; - realizing that respect for other people means respecting one's own culture and roots.
