Objectives

The primary goal of implementing the "Finding Balance in a Digital World" project was to address the challenges faced by today's youth in managing their digital and real-world lives, especially considering the omnipresence of digital media and technology. This project aimed to help participants find a harmonious balance between their online and offline activities, acknowledging the profound impact of digital media on mental health, social interactions, and overall well-being. The project was designed to equip young people with the tools and knowledge needed to navigate the complexities of the digital age, fostering a healthier, more balanced approach to their digital and real-life interactions. The specific objectives of the project were: Reflecting on Online and Offline Activities: Encouraging participants to consider their daily activities, both online and offline, and to understand how these activities affect their lives. Identifying Unplugging Strategies: Helping participants identify ways to disconnect from digital media to maintain a healthy balance between their virtual and real-world interactions. Implementing a Digital Habits Checkup: Using a routine to encourage participants to challenge themselves in achieving a healthier balance in their media consumption. Guiding Personal Discovery and Social Relations: Aiding the 29 participants in exploring their relationships with individuals, groups, future partners, communities, the material world, and themselves, through various forms of contact including communicative, physical, and digital. Developing Critical Thinking and Media Literacy: Utilizing non-formal learning methods to enhance young people's ability to critically assess media content and its influence on their lives and society. Integrating Online and Offline Activities: Teaching how to effectively combine online and offline activities in a way that they complement and strengthen each other. Understanding the Sociological and Psychological Impact: Gaining a deeper understanding of the effects of social media on the mental health and social dynamics of young people and their communities. Promoting EU and Erasmus+ Program Support: Highlighting the role of the European Union and the Erasmus+ program in supporting initiatives that help young people find balance in a digitalized world.
