Students of the partner organizations involved in the project "With Ecology for You" enjoy formal and non-formal education on a daily basis, as part of extracurricular activities in interest groups. Young people from Poland, Malta and the Czech Republic got in touch with each other via Facebook back in 2017, and jointly agreed that they would like to meet periodically to take part in several-day meetings in Poland. Young people from Goldap invited friends from Malta and the Czech Republic to show how diverse Goldap is and that it is possible to live in harmony with nature at the crossroads of cultures and nationalities while respecting the environment. Unfortunately, the group from Malta, for organizational reasons, did not participate in the project. The young people wanted to meet and in this way expand their knowledge of ecology, the world, learn about each other's culture, through a common passion, which is caring for the environment, exchange their knowledge of ecology and knowledge of the diversity of cultures and peoples of their regions. In addition, the students wanted to carry out activities with the disabled, and additionally to show in this way issues related to ecology, waste segregation and its use. The needs recognized by the youth and the goals they set for themselves were: - developing skills that are useful in everyday life (pro-environmental behavior, caring for the environment), - implementing responsibility for carrying out assigned tasks, fulfilling roles (e.g., host, person responsible for taking care of a colleague), planning a day's work, - sharing experience, and then using it in everyday life, - acquiring practical skills, not just theoretical ones, - forming a sense of equality, equalizing opportunities for young people from small towns and villages, - overcoming fears, such as shyness, lack of self-confidence, - opening up to new cultures. The youth wanted the implementation of the project to result in: - participants learning about their habits regarding ecological behavior, approaches to this subject, - strengthening attitudes of openness and communication, - striving for the formation of pro-environmental attitudes, - learning to act independently, work in a team and take responsibility for assigned tasks. The goals that the young people have set for themselves in connection with the implementation of this project are, on the one hand, to broaden their knowledge of the world, nature, ecology, and on the other - to learn about the diversity of cultures, religions and broaden tolerance for widely understood differences (including disabilities).
