The "I'm Not Afraid to Speak. Poetry on the Street" Project: Genesis and Assumptions: The "I'm Not Afraid to Speak. Poetry on the Street" project was born out of a need to give young people a voice and create a space for free artistic expression. The main goal was to strengthen self-confidence and courage among young people in expressing their thoughts and feelings, as well as to promote tolerance and integration between different backgrounds. Unique Character of the Project: The "I'm Not Afraid to Speak. Poetry on the Street" project stood out for its specific goals and methods. It aimed for young people to have a say in their issues, but not in an agitational, political way or by emphasizing everyday life's arguments. Their goal was to touch the hearts of the audience - peers, seniors, and even younger audiences - through the art of the spoken word and the artistic image in the form of a theatrical performance. Project Objectives: Integration of young people from different backgrounds and cultures through the joint creation and presentation of poetry. Enabling young people to express themselves freely in an artistic way by "giving them a voice" in the form of writing poetry. Specific Objectives: Strengthening self-confidence and courage among young people in expressing their thoughts and feelings. Developing creative skills in writing and reciting poetry. Promoting tolerance and mutual respect among different groups of young people. Discovering and unleashing the potential of young people. Breaking down language and cultural barriers through joint art creation. Raising awareness of the beauty of language and poetry. Encouraging active participation in culture. Implementation Methods: Poetry workshops led by experienced instructors. Youth exchange from different countries and cultures, promoting the exchange of experiences, breaking down language barriers, and building mutual understanding. Public performances by young poets, including presentations of poems at the Resource Center in Żyrardów and the "Poetry Train" action, giving young poets the opportunity to present their work to a wide audience. Publication of a multilingual poetry anthology, collecting the works of the project participants, became a testament to their creativity and diversity. An exhibition of photos and films documenting the course of the project brought its ideas and results closer to a wider audience. Project Results: Increased self-confidence and creativity among participants. Acquisition of the ability to express their thoughts and feelings in an artistic way. Development of tolerance and openness to others. Integration of young people from different backgrounds and cultures. Promotion of poetry and art among young people. Drawing attention to the problems of contemporary youth, such as mental health, loneliness, and depression.
