Objectives

We had a need to improve our IT competences with a focus on those needed on the labour market. Among the young people from our association, we dedicated one meeting of a few hours to discuss how IT is taught in our schools and what we learned from our interviews with people already working. From the analysis of our interviews, it emerged that the most common IT need at work is the ability to use a computer (in general) and to work on Office and graphics programmes (including Canva). So we decided not to wait for changes to the core curriculum or for more initiative from IT teachers in schools, but to take matters into our own hands. We are aware that the labour market will still change before we enter it, but the skills we have acquired are universal and needed not only in the future, but also now, in everyday life and at school. Our main objectives were therefore: 1. developing both basic and advanced digital skills as well as digital literacy; 2. development of entrepreneurial attitudes among young people; 3. the ability to collect, gather, sort and analyse data, and to draw conclusions and make plans on this basis. In turn, the side objectives of the project were: 1. prevention of professional inactivity; 2. to increase language competence 3. exchange of experience between organisations and young people; 4. developing creative thinking 5. developing a forward-looking and wide-ranging view of one's life, developing planning habits; 6. boosting self-esteem, motivation for action; 7. increased interest among young people in learning through different methods, non-formal education 8. awakening a sense of community, belonging to the European Union; 9. increased knowledge of other cultures; 10. increased respect for different cultures and views and prevention of stereotypes.
