The following were involved in the implementation of the project: participants from Poland (students of the humanities class from our school), participants from Hungary (young people from the journalism club led by Gyermek Mosoly), from Ukraine (young people from western Ukraine, studying fields related to journalism and media before the war , and currently involved in various humanitarian actions and promoting collections for the Ukrainian army), from North Macedonia (young volunteers helping to edit a local newspaper on social and youth issues) and Turkiye (volunteers cooperating with the Genc Girisim organization, responsible for running it social media and promotion of activities conducted by this organization were involved in the implementation of the project. The main goal of the project was to develop the interests of 40 participants from 5 countries related to journalism, editing press articles, running social media, conducting interviews, creating reports, creating content for publication on the Internet, the use and role of social media as a tool of modern media communication. In detail, the project aimed to develop the participants competences in the following areas: 1. Editing, publishing and promoting local newspapers - most of the participants already have experience in creating press articles, they have already published at least several articles in the local paper press or on websites, in school newspapers, etc., before the project, however, the participants did not know what the entire process of publishing a newspaper looks like "from the inside" (selecting graphics, processing and proofreading text, preparing the project for printing); such knowledge was acquired through workshops carried out as part of the project; project activities also allowed for gaining knowledge of what aspects determine the attractiveness of an article among potential recipients, how to highlight key information for a given article, how to select information obtained before writing an article, how to create headlines encouraging people to read the entire article; the project also made it possible to practice their skills in practice, writing press articles in groups on given topics, the youth participating in the project also had the opportunity to practice writing press articles in English. 2. Promoting events (e.g. youth events, social events, aid campaigns) via social media - during the project, participants learned how to create "catchy" graphics, how to edit promotional posts, e.g. on Facebook, what aspects of advertising they mainly pay attention to attention of potential recipients; the implementation of the project enabled gaining practical experience in conducting promotional and marketing campaigns (project participants in groups created a marketing campaign plan) 3. Creating simple websites using the Wordpress platform - project participants had the opportunity to develop their competences related to creating websites and selecting graphics for text , editing text and graphics for a good visual reception of the website 4. Learning about the differences between journalism in the printed press and journalism on the Internet - project participants had the opportunity to take part in a discussion on the differences in the reception of press articles and Internet articles, they discussed the how to adapt content to contemporary reality, contemporary realities and contemporary recipients; the project enabled gaining competences in summarizing articles and presenting the most important information in a synthetic form. The implementation of the project also enabled us to achieve the goal of improving the soft and intercultural competences of the project participants: - the youth participating in the project developed their creative thinking skills and unconventional approach to solving given problems, - the project participants improved their skills of working in international groups, coordinating and managing work of the team, - project participants improved their communication skills in foreign languages, - project participants became more open to diversity and better understand cultural differences occurring in Europe. The media creates reality, but some young people are not aware of this fact. The implementation of the project made it possible to draw attention to this issue among the project participants, friends of the participants with whom the youth participating in the project shared their reports from the project via private social media, and youth circles associated with the activities of partner organizations. Activities promoting the project results made it possible to raise the awareness of local communities about the most common media manipulations, expand knowledge on how to select available information and draw our own conclusions on topics of interest to us, after reading materials published in various sources.
