The music education project "Please don't stop the music" (referring to the famous Rihanna song) was an initiative focusing on music education and through music. He engaged young people around the music they listened to and creatively related popular music to current issues of life in Europe. This project was an educational undertaking through which the organizers wanted to look at music as a carrier of culture influencing our mentality, sense of aesthetics, stimulating the mind to critical thinking, opening up to new cultures and broadening horizons. The main goal of the project was to show music as an important element of European culture, being the foundation of European integration and friendly relations between societies. Another important goal was to engage young people in consciously experiencing music, which was to develop a number of competences resulting from music education. These goals were to be achieved through a week-long youth exchange, during which participants analyzed the role of music in each of our lives and in the life of societies, and at the end prepared their versions of "musical pieces" among the international group of Erasmus+ participants. The primary goal of the "Please don't stop the music" project was to educate young people about the role of music in the life of European societies. Thanks to the enormous potential of popular music, the project was able to convey knowledge about the reality around us and a critical look at it. The exchange program was intended to open young people to the problematic issues surrounding us and teach them to tolerate only positive aspects of reality. Music available on the Internet, including that used on Tik Tok, supported the spread of various ideas among members of a given community, being one of the most popular forms of transmitting information and emotions among young people. The project aimed to analyze this phenomenon, discuss the role of music and sound, and teach young people to think critically using particular genres. Thanks to critical thinking, young people were able to independently select the information they received, maintain their own judgment, distinguish facts from opinions, which helped them not only form their own opinions, but also defend them and resist manipulation. The organizers wanted young people not to be afraid to discuss taboo topics, to talk about them in an objective and open way, finding the boundaries between low-quality music, entertainment music and music carrying an important message. The project was intended to benefit people with fewer opportunities because taboo topics often directly affected them: illness, poverty, lack of self-confidence, family difficulties, learning difficulties, unattractive appearance, depression, etc. Various examples showed how music could break patterns, break certain cultural taboos and spread a good message, which taught tolerance, distance in the approach to life and broadened empathy towards both people, animals and nature. The aim of the project was: Analysis of music in the lives of young Europeans and its impact on people's behavior. Showing the differences and common elements in music in European countries. Showing the role that music played in democratic societies as a carrier of social moods, and, on the contrary, in non-democratic societies as the so-called safety valve. Strengthening critical thinking skills by analyzing musical styles, aesthetics and subliminal messages. Stimulating the participants' creativity and strengthening their competences through active forms of activities, in the form of preparing musical pieces from scratch and music videos illustrating their meaning, using informal methods such as workshops, role-playing, brainstorming, including, above all, an international music show, which was main product of youth exchange.
