Objectives

The project aimed to address several critical objectives related to the implementation and promotion of the Circular Economy (CE) model, especially within the context of sustainable development. The key goals of the project were: 1. Increasing awareness and knowledge of Circular Economy (CE) by ensuring that youth workers have relevant information and awareness for circular economy and lifestyles in harmony with nature. 2. Integration of CE principles into daily routines by encouraging youth workers to adopt circular economy principles and integrate these principles into their daily routines. The goal was to promote practical applications of CE principles in everyday life, reducing waste and promoting sustainability at an individual level. 3. Development of a virtual Circular Economy by supporting youth workers in building a virtual world based on circular economy principles, which includes substantially reduced waste generation through prevention, reduction, recycling, and reuse, specifically on Metaverse. This aimed to use modern technology and virtual platforms to model and experiment with CE concepts, making them more accessible and engaging. 4. Fostering intercultural dialogue and European values by strengthening European values and breaking down prejudices and stereotypes through exchange activities. By encouraging collaborative and cross-cultural experiences, the project aimed to create a European identity that values sustainability and CE. Additional aims and contextual goals were: - Promoting sustainable development. The project aligned with global efforts to promote sustainable development. - Supporting European green deal and actions. The project contributed to initiatives such as the new circular economy action plan by the European Commission, which includes proposals for sustainable product design, waste reduction, and empowering consumers (such as the right to repair). - Enhancing CE implementation in Poland by supporting Poland’s national strategy to enhance CE integration, aligning with activities facilitated by governmental and non-governmental organizations, businesses, and educational institutions. Expected impact: - Environmental footprint reduction. The project supported efforts to reduce resource consumption within planetary boundaries, aiming for a regenerative growth model that gives back more to the planet than it takes. - Capacity building and social inclusion by increasing the level of public and business awareness and involvement in CE.
